Things to Consider When
Choosing Child Care
After you have shared this information, the referral specialist will give you a list of child care centers that will meet your needs. Always interview the child care provider and look at the facility before you make a decision. To be sure you don't forget anything and are getting exactly what you and your family wants, you should compile a list of questions to ask the child care provider. Always take your child/children with you! It's important that you see how the provider interacts with your child/children and how your child/children respond to the provider. We all know parents play the most important role in the life of a child, however, the relationship between a child and a child care provider can affect a child's self-image and how he or she views the world. Remember when children receive warm and responsive care they feel safe and secure. Trust your instincts! If it doesn't feel right after the interview, it probably isn't. However once you have made your choice, stay involved. You and your child's, child care providers are partners now.
